SESAME IS DONE!
OMG, AND IT IS AMAZING!
One sleeve is shorter than the other, and I didn’t get the buttons I’d originally intended, but I. LOVE. IT.
Started: August 2007 (Don’t remember specific date)
Finished: March 3, 2008
Pattern: Sesame, by Melissa Wherle, in the August 05 MagKnits
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton-Ease in Stone (about 7 balls), and Lake (about 2.5 balls)
Mods: I didn’t use the recommended yarn (do I ever?), made the body a little longer by adding extra rows of straight stockinette, and I obviously didn’t do the striping that is in the original patter.
Extras: awesome bone buttons purchased at Knit Las Vegas, THE BEST LYS EVER! I had originally intended to get some really awesome anchor buttons, but they were too small for the buttonholes. Christine (the lovely owner) came over and helped me decide which buttons would look best.
I’ve been wearing it EVERYWHERE this week. The question is, what the hell doI knit now? Kidding! I’m knitting 3 dinosaurs; 3 more Tardo Stegs. Two are for KK and Rachel (my little sisters) and one is for Christa, whose birthdays are all in March. I have the body and one leg done of one, so I need to get crackin’!
So I had to rip out that sleeve, right?
I was fixing to start the cap shaping and … I DROPPED A STITCH. So I had to rip back a few rows and fix it. ARGH.
Now I’m shaping the cap and HOPEFULLY I’ll get the sleeve done tonight. Maybe I won’t sew it all up tonight, but I hope I can at least get the sleeve done.
I had to rip out one sleeve of my sweater. SADFACE.
I was all ready to sew it all up. I even BLOCKED IT, which I NEVER do.
And then one sleeve was waaay longer than the other, which doesn’t make sense, but whatever. I am now in the process of fixing it.
I did sew up one side and sleeve, and what I have done looks AWESOME.
