PITA Birthday Scarf
I promised my aunt that I’d knit her a scarf for her birthday (tomorrow). She lives in Pennsylvania, so it’ll actually be of use to her come winter-time. Her only requirement was that it be pink.
I picked up two skeins of Yarn Bee Dreamy Baby Chenille at Hobby Lobby last week, mostly because I was there, and it was there. One pink, one cream. I thought, “Hey! This is pretty and soft and it’ll work out great!”
BOY WAS I WRONG. It was a bitch to knit with, basically obliterating all stitch patterns that I tried. I turned to the lovely members of the knitting community on LJ, and they had many suggestions: most involved me running to the LYS and getting something different.
I was determined to conquer The Chenille Beast, so I decided to try the mistake stitch rib that someone suggested.
It’s almost finished now and it looks awesome. I have two pictures from when I started it, and I’m going to take more when it’s all done. The stripes look awesome, and I have to do one more repeat, weave in ends, and add fringe, and it’ll be ready to send!
